How to Update a Driver for a Dell USB Mouse
Many businesses use Dell computers and peripherals due to their reputation, affordability and reliability. Occasionally Dell will release new driver software that will take care of compatibility problems, remove bugs and allow the devices to work with new operating systems. If you are using a Dell USB mouse on your work computer, you can locate new drivers through the Device Manager and update your device quickly and easily. Make sure your computer is connected to the Internet and your USB mouse is plugged in before starting.

Open the Start menu. Type "Device Manager" into the open search box and click enter. Click "Device Manager" in the menu.

Choose "Mice and other pointing devices." Click the name of the Dell mouse you'd like to update.

Click the tab labeled "Driver" and then click "Update Driver." Select "Search automatically for updated driver software."

Follow the onscreen instructions to update the driver. Close the window after completing the installation process. Restart your computer.
