How to Do a Screen Shot on an Acer Computer
The Snipping Tool, an accessory included with Windows Vista and 7, enables you to create various types of screen shots on a company computer, including an Acer. You can use the tool to make an image of the entire screen, the active window, a rectangular area or a freehand area. The program lets you save screen shots in the PNG, GIF, JPEG and HTML formats, and the built-in editor lets you create annotations and erase unwanted areas on the image.
-
1.
Click "Start | All Programs | Accessories | Snipping Tool" to launch the Snipping Tool.
-
2.
Click the "New" button to view the selection options. Click "Full-Screen Snip" to take a picture of the entire screen or "Window Snip" to make a screen shot of the currently active window. To make a screen shot of a custom area on your screen, click "Free-Form Snip" to trace the area yourself or "Rectangular Snip" to select a rectangular area. For these last two options, click and drag your mouse to cover the portion of the screen you want to record. Your screen shot then opens in a new Snipping Tool window.
-
3.
Click the "File" menu and select "Save" on the window that shows your screen shot. Select a save location, type a file name and select a file type. Press "Enter" to finish saving the screen shot.
