How to Remove the McAfee On-Access Scanner
McAfee's On-Access Scanner is part of the VirusScan security suite. The purpose of On-Access Scan is to scan files in real time as they are opened to keep your system constantly protected. This means the service runs in the background while your computer is running. Removing On-Access frees up resources and may prevent conflicts with certain programs. McAfee recommends leaving On-Access Scan running for added protection.
