Rebooting a Samsung Tablet
Although generally considered to be stable devices, the Galaxy and other Samsung tablets may occasionally require rebooting to fix problems. By rebooting the tablet, problems such as slow performance, low memory and stalled programs or widgets are typically fixed. Rebooting a Samsung tablet merely requires pressing and holding down the appropriate button and then selecting the correct option to reboot the tablet.
-
1.
Press and hold down the “Power” button on your Samsung tablet for a few seconds.
-
2.
Release the button when the “Power Options” menu appears on your tablet.
-
3.
Tap the “Restart” button to reboot your Samsung tablet.
-
4.
Wait for the device to shut off and then power back on its own. Once your lock screen appears again, your tablet is successfully rebooted.
Tips
- Remove your Samsung’s cover and battery if the “Power Options” menu does not appear when holding down the power button. Occasionally the Samsung tablet may lock up, which causes the options menu to not appear even when you are holding down the power button correctly. By removing the cover and then the battery, you are forcing the tablet to reboot.
