Converting a TIFF to a PNG With a Mac
Some scanners use the TIFF file format when saving images from scanned photos and documents. However, most Web browsers cannot display TIFF files without plug-ins, making it difficult to share a TIFF file online. In addition, TIFF files are sometimes huge, causing long upload and download times. Use the Preview application on your Mac to convert a TIFF file to a PNG image for compatibility with Web browsers.
