How do I Allow for Printer Sharing on AVG Internet Security?

AVG Internet Security enables your company to control its incoming and outgoing Internet connections. It also enables you to manage access to printers on your network, ensuring that you and your coworkers can access these devices but outside parties cannot. AVG Internet Security has a dedicated File and Printer Sharing panel via which you can monitor sharing settings. To change printer sharing settings, you must change them in the Windows Network and Sharing Center. These settings are then automatically adopted by the AVG Internet Security firewall.

  1. 1.

Click "Control Panel" on the Windows Charms bar.

  2. 2.

Click the "View devices and printers" link located beneath the Hardware and Sound heading.

  3. 3.

Click the printer you want to share and select "Properties" on the menu that appears.

  4. 4.

Click the "Sharing" tab, place a check mark in the "Share this printer" check box and then click "OK."

  5. 5.

Launch AVG Internet Security and click the "Firewall" tile.

  6. 6.

Click the "File and printer sharing" link located on the left of the window and verify that the File and Printer Sharing page says that "File and printer sharing is enabled."
